The Etowah Arts Commission gallery is alive with the flowing, inspirational artwork of Tina Baker from October  11 through December 8, 2012.  An Artist Reception will be held on Thursday, October 25 from 5pm until 7pm, to which everyone is invited and encouraged to drop in for a visit with Ms. Baker, while enjoying some light hors d’oeurves.  In addition, mark Saturday, November 10 on your calendar and join Ms. Baker from 9am until 12pm(noon) to create your own 16×20 oil painting of a breathtaking waterfall, as she teaches the Bob Ross style of painting.  Participants will take their...

March 2012 – Tennessee Samplers: 19th Century Schoolgirl Embroidery

Exhibit is on view from March 6 to April 6 in the EAC Gallery from 12-6pm every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. FREE admission! From 1700-1900 young women made intricate ‘samplers’ to display their skill at needlework. View a “sample” of these artworks from Tennessee in full size glory along with biographical information on the young ladies who made them. On Display from February 7 – March 3, 2012   |   Public Reception on February 23 from 6-7pm John “Brownie” Brock (8/11/1925 – 10/26/2006) was an Etowah-ian skilled and patient with needlework. It is said that “his backs are as good as his fronts”, but don’t take it from me. Visit the Etowah Arts Commission Gallery to see his precise work for yourself!
